Aviation-related Industry

The Air Cargo Logistics Center at Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Sullivan County, Tenn., was created to accommodate the area’s rapidly expanding aviation industry. More than 500 publicly owned acres are available within industrial park sites located near the airport, supported by a stable infrastructure that includes buildings, state-of-the-art communications, tax incentives, a Foreign Trade Zone to facilitate importing and exporting, and a trained and productive workforce of more than 225,000 in the Tri-Cities metro area.

The emerging cluster of aviation-related industries in Sullivan County is made up of air freight forwarders and a number of other major employers, including the following: Edwards & Associates, Inc., a division of Bell Helicopter Textron, the largest of its type in the county, employing more than 500 people; DEC Technologies, which manufactures and sells more than 1,500 FAA-PMA-approved parts to the worldwide commercial airline and aerospace industry; Wysong Enterprises, a leader in aeronautical modifications and installations offering audio-video integrations, special mission brackets and full aircraft completions for EMS, law enforcement, corporate and broadcast applications; Dart Helicopter Service, which sells helicopter parts and components.
