Education Workforce Summit

2009 NETWORKS Education-Workforce February Summit and July Workshop

The 2009 NETWORKS Education-Workforce Summit brought together education, business, community and economic development leaders from across the region to determine ways NETWORKS and the region's business and industrial partners can assist our area's PreK-12 education systems with:

- Achieving the new state standards for high school graduation;
- Providng support that results in all graduates qualifying for the Educate and Grow Scholarship;
- Increasing the number of residents in our communities completing higher education degrees;
- Fostering a learning culture in Sullivan County; and
- Working to ensure that the education systems in Sullivan County, Kingsport and Bristol are continually recognized as performance leaders in the state and nation.

A followup Summit Workshop was held on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009.
